Thailand is a country that offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes and activities of all kinds. There are many ways to enjoy unique experiences during a tour of Thailand.
Don't miss the lively capital Bangkok, with its spectacular temples such as Wat Phra Kaew, the Grand Palace, and traditional markets, including the fascinating Damnoen Saduak floating market. A short distance from Bangkok, you can visit the historic city of Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam, with its ruins and ancient temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see for history and culture enthusiasts.
In the North, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai offer ancient temples, unspoilt nature, and the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun).
For sea lovers, the paradise beaches of Phuket, Krabi, Koh Tao, and Koh Samui are must-see destinations, perfect for relaxation and water adventures. Finally, the Khao Sok National Park offers unforgettable experiences among jungles, lakes, and exotic wildlife.
Thailand is an ideal destination all year round. The sun shines even during the rainy season, but monsoons prevent some activities. The best time to visit Thailand is generally from November to April, during the dry season, when the weather is cooler and sunnier, ideal for exploring cities, temples and beaches. The months from April to June are the hottest. During the rainy season, from June to October, there are short, intense rainfall, but the Gulf islands, such as Koh Samui, offer a more stable climate even during this period. If a little humidity doesn't bother you, this is the ideal time to avoid the crowds.
The most commonly used airports for arriving in Thailand are Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and Phuket Airport, but international flights also land at Don Mueang, Bangkok's second airport, and at airports in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Koh Samui and Krabi. Italian citizens do not need a visa for stays of less than 30 days. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the country and have two blank pages.
Thailand is an ideal destination for travelling with the whole family: safe, welcoming, and full of engaging experiences for young and old alike. From the colourful temples and lively markets of Bangkok to nature adventures in Chiang Mai, we recommend a child carrier as pushing a pushchair on uneven or non-existent pavements can be problematic. One of the most popular places for children is the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, where they can admire elephants in their natural environment. Each stop offers fun and educational activities. The beaches of Hua Hin, Koh Chang, Koh Lanta, and Koh Samui are perfect for relaxing and playing, with calm waters and family-friendly resorts. In addition, many facilities offer services dedicated to children, making the trip comfortable and peaceful for everyone.
Some basic vaccinations are recommended, such as those against hepatitis A, yellow fever, tetanus-diphtheria and hepatitis B, especially if you are planning a long stay or risky activities. In some rural areas or during the rainy season, it is also advisable to protect yourself against malaria with preventive medication and to take measures to protect yourself against mosquito bites. Before departure, consult your doctor and visit https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel for recommended vaccinations. We do not recommend drinking tap water, even if the authorities say it is safe to do so. Thailand is a very popular tourist destination and is generally considered safe for travellers of all ages. We recommend avoiding the southern provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani, as well as the districts of Chana, Na Thawi, Tepha and Saba Yoy (in Songkhla Province). We recommend taking out travel insurance to cover emergencies and health problems.
