About the destination: Ubud is a town on the Indonesian island of Bali in Ubud District, located amongst rice paddies and steep ravines in the central foothills of the Gianyar regency. Promoted as an arts and culture centre, it has developed a large tourism industry. Ubud has a population of about 30,000 people. It can be difficult for visitors to distinguish the town itself from the 13 villages that surround it. The area surrounding the town is made up of small farms, rice paddies, and dense forest.

About the destination: Nusa Lembongan is a small island paradise located just off the southeast coast of Bali, Indonesia. Far quieter than its famous neighbor, it offers turquoise waters, powdery white-sand beaches, and dramatic coastal cliffs. The island is compact enough to explore in a day, yet diverse enough to keep you busy for several. Expect a laid-back atmosphere, friendly locals, and a growing selection of stylish cafés and boutique accommodations, all while retaining a relaxed, village feel. Most visitors come for the sea: snorkeling and diving are superb, with healthy coral reefs and a good chance of spotting manta rays and colorful tropical fish. Popular snorkel spots like Crystal Bay and Mangrove Point can be reached by boat, while surfers head to breaks such as Shipwrecks, Lacerations, and Playgrounds. For those who prefer to stay on land, Dream Beach and Mushroom Bay are ideal for sunbathing and swimming, and the famous Devil’s Tear viewpoint offers powerful waves crashing against rugged cliffs—especially dramatic at sunset. Getting around Nusa Lembongan is easy, with scooters and bicycles available for rent, or you can hire a local truck-taxi for short rides. A narrow yellow bridge connects Nusa Lembongan with neighboring Nusa Ceningan, making it simple to extend your exploration to cliff-jumping spots, hidden coves, and more photo-worthy viewpoints. While the island is casual, it’s best to bring cash (ATMs can be limited) and reef-safe sunscreen to help protect the marine environment. Accommodation ranges from budget guesthouses to mid-range resorts and a few upscale villas, many with ocean views and infinity pools. Dining is centered around Mushroom Bay and Jungut Batu, where you’ll find seafood warungs, beach bars, and Western-style options. Nights are generally low-key, with sunset drinks, live music on select evenings, and early starts for the next day’s adventures on and under the water.

About the destination: Nusa Penida is an island southeast of Indonesia's island Bali and a district of Klungkung Regency that includes the neighbouring small island of Nusa Lembongan. The Badung Strait separates the island and Bali. The interior of Nusa Penida is hilly with a maximum altitude of 524 metres. It is drier than the nearby island of Bali. It is one of the major tourist attractions among the three Nusa islands and is rich in natural beauty. There are two small islands nearby - Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan - which are included within the district (kecamatan). Administratively, the kecamatan of the same name, had a population of 45,178 in 2010 census, covering 202.8 km2, very little changed from 10 years prior.

About the destination: Lombok, also called the little sister of Balis, offers the traveler unique picture-book beaches, a majestic volcano in the interior of the island and extremely hospitable and tradition-conscious inhabitants. The scenic island is about 50 km or 20 minutes by plane east of Bali (so ideal for island combinations), alternatively the journey can also be directly from Singapore. The number of hotels is manageable, from mass tourism is still far away. The fact that the inhabitants of the island - the Sasak - still largely live according to old traditions, contributes to the leisurely way of life. In the small tourist town of Senggigi there is a selection of country-style restaurants, bars and shops. A popular excursion destination is the 3 Gili Islands with their white beaches. The months of April to November are the best time to travel. In the off-season it is quieter, the sea can be disturbed and possibly not swimming.

About the destination: Seminyak is a mixed tourist / residential area on the west coast of Bali just north of Kuta and Legian. Originally a separate township, this is now just another suburb of Kuta. This area is very popular with resident expatriates and land and accommodation prices are amongst the highest in Bali. Plenty of luxury spas and hotels abound. Owing to its high density of high-end shopping, combined with the clustering of many fine eating establishments, it has rapidly become one of the most well-known tourist areas on the island. In addition to a few commercial strips with popular and lively restaurants, bars, villas, and good crafts/furniture shops, there are a few notable establishments: Ku Dé Ta, which is a bar/restaurant with a cult following based on its beach side/semi-resort atmosphere that has earned it the title of number one party spot in various magazines, and Oberoi, which is an expensive hotel with a worldwide reputation. La Lucciola is a restaurant located in the north of Seminyak on the beach and has been in existence for over a decade. Jalan Raya Seminyak (more often referred to as Jalan Legian), runs parallel with the beach, bisecting the district and acts as its main road artery.
